Day 5 - Prayer Walking, the Beach, VBS, New Year´s Celebration

Today we are starting early...I have to get off here soon so I can have breakfast and go. We are going to have our devotion on the top of a volcano this morning. How awesome is that! Then we are going to prayer walk in the area for the new church plant: Cuidad Obrera. Then we will go to the beach for lunch (okay there are perks to missions!). Then VBS and a New Year´s Celebration at Antiguo Cuscatlan. Our folks are getting attached to our brothers and sisters at Antiguo Cuscatlan!! Should be a great day in the Lord.

Hi!I am jealous- especially the beach part. I'm glad Andy got to experience that. You all have been in my thoughts and prayers this week. It sounds awesome. How is Alexandra?? Charlie dog is fine. We miss you. Love, Charlene

Another amazing day. The volcano was probably the highlight of the day with the views and the amazing devotion.

Prayer walking in "name that I can't remember": I didn't understand a lot of what was spoken, but Andy was very nice and translated a lot. One woman in particular was being very encouraging to Rolando.

The dinner with the church was very cool as well. It is fun to try and teach English / learn Spanish with such nice people.

It was fun this evening to watch Will interact with the friends that he's made. He has a "secret" handshake with one named Alexis. Neither one can speak the others' language, but they are constantly playing together whenever possible. Harrison is his usual quiet self, he's also enjoyed playing with Alexis and the others as well as trying to learn some juggling moves to show during VBS.

Travis' balloon animals have been a real big hit. He's been coming up with all kinds of new creations for the kids at the different places we've been.

One day left...where did the week go??

Thanks for the comments Jacqui and Charlene! I have thought often of past trips and El Salvador Alumni this week.

This really was another really good day. Micky has already covered most of it. I think the worship on top of a volcano will be the highlight of the trip for me. Paul led a devotion on David´s sacrifice and service to the Lord and encouraged all of us (especially the El Salvadorians) to not get discouraged and to keep on keeping on. We circled around the Rivas and Santos families and prayed for them and it was an incredibly tender moment! And then we continued to worship...

The rest of the day was full of prayer walking for the new potential mission (it´s amazing how God is already at work here!!), VBS (we´ve grown to 25 kids and youth!), and a New Year´s Celebration with Antiguo Cuscatlan. It was a special service and once again hard to say good bye to many.

I continue to be amazed at the team God has put together.
